The ministry recalled that back in early March, through the efforts of the State Arts and the heads of philharmonic societies and theaters that are part of the association, an open letter was created and published with a request to support our country. Then the association called on the artistic community of Russia to be bolder and not be silent about the events in Ukraine, and also initiated support for Ukrainian figures by organizing solidarity concerts with the participation of Ukrainian artists.

But until the beginning of summer, no statements were made from Opera Europa.

In June, after lengthy discussions and discussions, with the active support of partner theaters, the association's Board of Directors and its General Assembly suspended the membership of Russian opera theaters in Opera Europa.

Opera Europa is the leading organization serving professional opera companies and opera festivals across Europe (more than 200 members from 40 countries).
