To help rebuild Ukraine, Switzerland will increase state support to more than CHF100 million and allocate CHF15 million for digital transformation, Swiss President Ignazio Cassis said at the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference in Lugano on Tuesday.
“Switzerland will double funding in the framework of bilateral cooperation with Ukraine to more than 100 million francs by 2023… Responding to the Prime Minister’s call, we will allocate at least 15 million francs for digital transformation,” he said.
The President of the country added that Switzerland also allocates funds to Ukraine on a multilateral basis through the UN, the World Bank, the EBRD and other organizations, and the principles drawn up later on Tuesday by the Lugansk Declaration will make it easier for Ukraine to attract funding for the Recovery Plan.
He also added that Switzerland is ready to support negotiations to end the war when the time comes..
“Switzerland provides quality mediation and the Lugano Conference is one such example. We are ready to continue in the same vein, and express our readiness to support the negotiations to end the war when the time comes,” added Cassis.

The Swiss city of Lugano is hosting the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference (URC2022) on July 4-6, which is expected to adopt the so-called Lugano Declaration on the Basis for Further Cooperation. More than 40 states and more than 20 international organizations are invited to participate in the conference.
Within its framework, the government of Ukraine presented the Plan for the Restoration of Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers estimated the cost of the post-war restoration of the state within ten years at $750 billion and planned the implementation of 850 projects and programs.
