Story.

After the Revolution of Dignity in Ukrainian society, there was a need to reform the law enforcement system. To carry out reforms, the authorities decided to use the experience of Georgia. In the fall of 2014, the concept of reforming the Ministry of Internal Affairs was presented, which provided for the creation of the National Police instead of the police.

On July 2, 2015, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law “On the National Police”, and on July 4, the first staff of the National Police took the oath on Sophia Square in Kyiv.

For about a month, the National Police worked in test mode. The second city in which the police took to the streets was Lviv, and the third was Odessa..

Gradually, the project began to be implemented in other cities.. This whole process took a year..

Now Ukraine is living in the conditions of a full-scale invasion of Russia. Employees of the National Police play an important role in confronting the Ukrainian people with armed aggression. They not only keep order, but also help to evacuate residents of the regions in which hostilities are taking place, identify saboteurs and collaborators, and also investigate the war crimes of the occupiers. In addition, the National Police officers are looking for missing people, including children..
