NBA Toronto Raptors basketball player Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk will play for the Ukrainian national team in the July 2023 World Cup qualifiers.

According to the Basketball Federation of Ukraine, the player is already on his way to Latvia and will soon join the training of the national team.

Mykhailyuk received a decision from the NBA to play for the national team. A similar decision was received by another Ukrainian – center “Sacramento” Oleksiy Len. He will not help the national team in July, but will join the team in the August window of qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup and EuroBasket 2022.

It is noted that an agreement has been reached on the insurance of players - it will be covered by the NBA.

The national team of Ukraine, as part of the selection for the 2023 World Cup, will play against Georgia on July 1, against North Macedonia on July 4, and against Spain on July 7.
