In the fourth month of a full-scale war, after a decrease in demand for essential goods that Ukrainians bought up in the first weeks, some changes are recorded on the market. Ekaterina Rozhkova, Deputy Head of the National Bank, spoke about the revival of the economy in an interview with Channel 24.
“Citizens’ demand has changed. If in the first months of the war, people from shock had demand only for essential goods - food, medicine, very simple things, now the demand for manufactured goods, clothing, services is being restored.. We also see that the demand for imported goods is recovering, especially for long-term use - washing machines, cars, etc.,"

At the same time, the NBU states that the economy will not reach the pre-war state soon.. The reasons are not only in the destruction of infrastructure and enterprises, but also in mass migration abroad. The agency estimates that direct losses to the economy exceed $100 billion.. The explanation for such a cosmic amount is that after February 24, the theater of operations unfolded in territories that in the pre-war period produced more than 50% of GDP.
Despite the disappointing statistics, one can still say that the country's economy has gradually begun to work after the shock period..
