In the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam tournament, a 29-year-old Ukrainian paired with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia defeated the representatives of Belgium Marina Zanevskaya and Kimberly Zimmermann.

The match lasted 1 hour 53 minutes and ended with the score 6:3, 5:7, 6:2.

For Lyudmila Kichenko, this will be the first semi-final in her career at the Grand Slam tournament. Previously, her best result was the quarter-finals at Roland Garros and the US Open in 2019..

Moreover, the representative of Ukraine for the first time in 14 years will play in the doubles semi-finals of the Grand Slam tournament.. The last time sisters Alena and Ekaterina Bondarenko reached this stage at Roland Garros-2008.

Lyudmila Kichenok is the only Ukrainian who managed to reach the semi-finals at Roland Garros-2022. In the quarterfinals, the fight was completed by Marta Kostyuk paired with Romanian Elena-Gabriela Russe.

For reaching the final, Kichenok and Ostapenko will compete with the winners of the match Caroline Garcia / Kristina Mladenovic (France) - Xu Yifan / Yang Zhaoxuan (China).
