People's Deputies propose not to limit the age limits to the opportunity to serve in the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The corresponding draft law No. 7381 “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine to Optimize Actions in Wartime Conditions to Strengthen the Economy and the Defense Capability of the State” was registered by the people’s deputies in the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, May 18.

The deputies propose to supplement the law “On the Fundamentals of National Resistance” and allow the formation of the territorial defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the expense of persons from the territorial reserve, “whose age exceeds the age limit for military service, on a voluntary basis if the military medical commission recognizes them as fit for health reasons for military service.”.

It is noted that after the announcement of general mobilization, citizens older than 60 and 65 years old, with high professional military training, experience in participating in hostilities as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and, for health reasons, are suitable for carrying.
