A petition to the UN calling for the removal of the Ukrainian military blocked at Azovstal in Mariupol to a third country gained more than 1 million votes. The petition for the application of the extraction procedure was registered four days ago by the wife of the commander of the Azov regiment, Denis Prokopenko, Ekaterina.

Thus, the signatories call on the UN and Secretary General of the organization Antonio Guterres:.

resume the 11th special session of the UN General Assembly to consider the humanitarian situation in Mariupol as a result of the aggression against Ukraine;

adopt a resolution that obliges the Russian Federation, as an aggressor country, to ensure the evacuation of all people to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government, or to the territory of third safe countries.

At the same time, the signatories call on all world leaders to take the necessary measures to ensure and implement the resolution, as well as to act as a guarantor of security..

“Despite the inhumane conditions, the Ukrainian military controls the territory of the Azovstal plant, which, in particular, serves as a shelter for civilians and the wounded.. Such conditions are a genuine humanitarian catastrophe artificially created by the Russian Federation.. There is a significant shortage of food, medicines, hygiene and personal protective equipment in the city. Due to the total damage to infrastructure and housing, the city of Mariupol no longer exists. Now time is running out, the invaders have partially broken into the territory of the Azovstal plant, every minute of delay can cost huge losses to everyone who has taken refuge on the territory of the plant,” the petition says..

It is indicated that the signatories call on the UN, the Secretary General of the organization and regional leaders around the world to begin an immediate extraction procedure for the evacuation of civilians, all the wounded, the bodies of the dead and military personnel from the besieged Mariupol.

The international community is called for decisive action to:.

secure an urgent ceasefire with guarantees on both sides in Mariupol;

organize immediate monitoring of compliance with the ceasefire by a third party;

organize sea evacuation of the civilian population and Ukrainian military to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government or to the territory of a third intermediary state. Maritime evacuation may be accompanied by a land-based humanitarian corridor for civilians and military to territory controlled by the Ukrainian government or to a third intermediary state.

As reported, the wounded at Azovstal most often die due to infectious gangrenes.. Antibiotics are running out, there are no opportunities to carry out amputations and generally receive proper medical care after the defeat of a field hospital, on which the Russians dropped multi-ton bombs.. The Azov Regiment calls the evacuation of the wounded a top priority and notes that with warming, the bodies of the dead begin to decompose and poison everything.
