During two months of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, 9 thousand 781 defenders of Ukraine were awarded state awards. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his address.

In particular, 142 defenders received the title of Hero of Ukraine.

" The title of Hero of Ukraine was awarded to 142 of our defenders. Ukrainians and Ukrainian women showed massive readiness to defend Ukraine. Any age, any property status, any education - Ukrainians and Ukrainian women alike stood up for the state,"

Today, the President signed decrees on awarding 269 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nine servicemen of the Main Intelligence Directorate.

He also said that during this time Ukraine managed to de-occupy 931 settlements..

“Many more cities and communities are under the temporary control of the Russian army. But I have no doubt that it is only a matter of time before we liberate our land,” the President added..

Zelensky stressed that in two months a global anti-war coalition was created and sanctions were imposed against Russia, which took away its future. Ukraine, on the other hand, receives assistance from dozens of countries: weapons, finances, necessary goods, political support.

“The lessons of history are well known. If you are going to build a thousand-year Reich, you will lose. If you're going to destroy your neighbors, you'll lose. If you want to restore the old empire, you will lose. And if you go against the Ukrainians, you will lose,” Zelensky said.
