It was not possible to agree with the Russian invaders on a ceasefire to open humanitarian corridors on Sunday, April 17, according to Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.

“As of this morning, April 17, we have not been able to agree with the occupiers on a ceasefire on evacuation routes.. Therefore, unfortunately, today we do not open humanitarian corridors.. We are working hard to get humanitarian corridors back up and running as quickly as possible,” Vereshchuk wrote..

Vereshchuk stressed that Ukraine demands the opening of a humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of civilians from Mariupol, especially women and children.

“Also, through the relevant international structures, we demand that the occupiers open a special corridor for the evacuation of wounded soldiers from Mariupol,” Vereshchuk added..
