The clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Churches collected 427 signatures under an appeal to the Primates of the Eastern Churches on the trial of Patriarch Kirill, who supported the Russian war against Ukraine.

“We hoped to collect at least 100 signatures. The appeal is signed by 427 people in holy orders. This figure is an indicator not only of those who act according to their own conscience, but also of those who are not afraid to do this, despite threats and possible repressions,” said the rector of the parish of the UOC-MP in the. Volosskoye Andriy Pinchuk.

According to him, many priests supported the appeal in conversations, but they did not have the courage to sign it - out of fear for their future and the future of their families..

Now the priests will begin the procedure for submitting an appeal in Greek translation for further consideration to the Council of the Primates of the Church of Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem and Cyprus, which has jurisdiction over Patriarch Kirill.

The English version of the appeal will be sent to the Primates of other Orthodox Churches for review.

Father Andrei is a priest who breaks stereotypes about his profession and lifestyle. Since the beginning of the war, he has been saving not only souls, but also lives, daily evacuating Ukrainians from hot spots. Recently, with a group of like-minded people, he initiated a letter to the court of the Eastern Patriarchs, in which the priests of the UOC-MP accuse Patriarch Kirill of heresy and demand a church tribunal for him. Read about all this in Alla Kotlyar's interview with Archpriest Andrey Pinchuk.
