Forward of Shakhtar Donetsk and the Ukrainian national team Daniil Sikan sold at auction a gold medal from the victorious U-20 World Cup to raise funds for the defenders of Ukraine - the National Guard, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the terrorist defense.

The German Hansa Rostock became the buyer of the award for the 20-year-old Ukrainian, for which he now plays on loan, Tribuna reports.. com.

The Sikan medal was purchased for 32 thousand dollars (about 943 thousand hryvnias). The starting price of the award was $7,500.

As previously reported, Hansa fans supported Sikan's initiative and worked together to raise money to buy his medal at auction.. Now the award will be returned to the Ukrainian striker or it will be exhibited in the club museum.

Recall that the former goalkeeper of Shakhtar, and now the head coach of Veres Rivne, Yuriy Virt, sold the medal of the UEFA Cup winner for a “tidy” sum. And the hero of the 2022 Olympics Alexander Abramenko donated money for the medal to the needs of Ukrainians.
