Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24. The occupiers attacked a few months before the end of the school year and the introductory campaign. Oksana Onishchenko in an article for ZN. UA " Three things you need to know”, explained how Ukrainian schoolchildren will be able to get a certificate in the conditions of war and what will happen to the final exams.

“The difference from previous years is that graduates of the 9th grade are already exempted from passing the state final certification by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated February 28, 2022 No. 232. Regarding the exemption from certification of graduates of the 11th grade - on March 24, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the relevant Law, we are waiting for the President's signature and publication,"

According to her, if the applicants for education were forced to move to safer regions, they can remain on distance learning or external studies in their educational institutions (provided that they are functioning). Also, students can get a job at an educational institution at a new place of residence or enter any educational institution that works remotely or provides external study.

“Currently, private distance schools have already created many offers for education seekers. The issue of issuing documents will be decided by the relevant educational institutions to which the applicants will be assigned,” explained Oksana Onishchenko.

At the same time, if students in grades 9 and 11 are temporarily abroad, they were also offered several options for completing their studies and obtaining a certificate of basic or complete general secondary education.

“If the school where children studied in Ukraine has already organized distance learning, it is necessary to encourage students to connect to it. Parents should in this case establish contact with their institution, which will issue the appropriate document.. Parents can also apply to the International Ukrainian School with an application for admission to the MUSh for external study on an individual basis. Issuance of documents on education in such cases will be carried out by the International Ukrainian School. The necessary information is available on the school website,” the author noted..
