The Lithuanian government is considering options to bring the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to international court over the crisis he provoked with migrants at the border. This was stated on Friday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielyus Landsbergis, "

" I want to emphasize that this is a working group that will assess how this process should be developed further, we are not talking about appeals yet, but about assessing the possibility of such an appeal, \? said Landsbergis.

The head of Lithuanian diplomacy clarified whether he sees a reason for such a measure in relation to the Belarusian dictator.

\? answered Landsbergis.

When asked in connection with what actions it would be possible to initiate the trial of Lukashenka, Landsbergis replied that this is a premature question..

" A professional assessment of all the possibilities will be given with the involvement of international experts, \? said the minister, while confirming that the evidence of the case is legally documented.

The heads of the committees of the parliaments of Lithuania and 16 other European countries two weeks ago turned to the leadership of the European Union and NATO with a proposal to initiate an international trial against Lukashenka.

The heads of the committees dealing with issues of European politics propose to transfer the case of Belarus to the International Court of Justice, because, in their opinion, the Lukashenka regime violated the international Convention against torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
