The European Commission proposes to change the rules for the entry of tourists into the European Union. The main changes relate to the booster dose and the reduction in the validity of vaccination certificates. This was reported by the press service of the European Commission.

It noted that more than 650 million vaccination certificates have already been issued in the EU.. However, there are states that have already begun to introduce booster doses of vaccinations.. That is why countries are offered to unify their approach to this issue - to reduce the validity period of documents to 9 months..

In addition, this period should include a third covid shot after six months, as recommended by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).

" This also applies to the question of the boosters that are needed to fight the virus.. Among other measures, we propose today that the Council agree on a standard validity period for vaccination certificates issued after a primary batch, ”said European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reinders.

The European Commission proposes that the rules take effect from January 10.
