The youth team of Ukraine (U-21) won the third victory in qualifying for the European Championship 2023. Ruslan Rotan's wards defeated the Faroe Islands team at the Slavutich Arena in Zaporozhye - 1: 0.
The only goal in the meeting was scored in the 24th minute. Guest defender Andrias Edmundsson hit the net of his own goal.
In the 41st minute, the Ukrainians earned a penalty and could secure a comfortable score, but it all ended in an epic failure. Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgy Sudakov decided to play the 11-meter with his teammate Artem Bondarenko, but he failed to outplay the rival goalkeeper. As a result, the Ukrainian fans had to get nervous until the final whistle, which recorded the minimal victory of the “blue-yellow”.
