On Wednesday, September 15, the photo exhibition “Independence is me. Independence is us. 30 stories of changes for the anniversary of the restoration of independence " Three dozen photographs about the activities of public organizations are exhibited on the pedestrian bridge between Vladimirskaya Gorka and the Arch of Friendship of Peoples.

The exhibition-dialogue was opened by Marina Honda, Deputy Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration and Volodymyr Sheigus, Executive Director of the public organization ISAR Unity, which is the initiator of the photo event.

" Both the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity could simply not have done without a sufficient number of public activists who had experience and understood what to do..

Over the past 30 years, many public organizations have grown from small initiatives that took only the first steps in activism, to powerful structures influencing politics and the economy, advocate for changes and, together with various ministries and departments, are developing new legislation, "

The selection of 30 participating organizations, presented in the photographs of the exhibition, was carried out on the principle of covering the entire geography of Ukraine and various fields of activity (ecology, education, support for people with disabilities, veterans, emigrants, custody and assistance to children, the sphere of culture and sports, legal assistance, etc.). And this is just a small sample of public initiatives that, together with others, improve the quality of life of people in the country..

The authors of the photographs of the exhibition-dialogue are famous Ukrainian photographers - Alexander Khomenko, Pavel Pashko, Sergey Nuzhnenko, Sergey Korovainy, Kristina Kulakovskaya, Markiyan Lyseiko, Yuri Stefanyak, Valentina Uvarova and Alexey Karpovich.

" , - notes the photographer and organizer of the exhibition Alexander Khomenko.

The aim of the photo exhibition is to show, using the example of large and small organizations that work with a variety of problems, their impact on people's lives, on those changes that improve our country "
