Manchester City defeat RB Leipzig in the Champions League group stage round 1 home match. The meeting at the Etihad stadium ended with a score of 6: 3.

Four goals were scored even before the break in the match. First, Nathan Ake brought the hosts ahead, and then they managed to consolidate the advantage after Nordi Mukiele's own goal.

Christopher Nkunku won back one goal, but then Riyad Marez, having realized a penalty on 45 + 2 minutes, scored the third goal into the guests' goal.

After the break, Nkunku scored again, to which the hosts responded with a goal from Jack Grealish. In the 73rd minute, the RB Leipzig forward scored a hat-trick, but the intrigue in the duel was killed by the effective strikes of Joao Canselo and Gabriel Jesus.

Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko played the fight entirely as part of the “townspeople”, he did not score with effective actions.

In another match of the starting round of Group A, PSG drew away with Club Brugge (1: 1).

The matches of the second round of the Champions League group stage will take place on September 28: RB Leipzig - Club Brugge, PSG - Manchester City.

Top two teams from each group will advance to the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. The third-place winners will move to the Europa League, where they will compete in the play-offs against the teams that took the second places in the UEL groups.
