President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in a ceremony to honor the memory of the heroes of Krut, noting that they were performing essentially the same task as now the Ukrainian military in Donbas.

According to the press service of the head of state, Zelensky on Friday morning laid flowers at the memorial cross to the heroes of Krut at Askold's grave in Kiev.

" The defenders of the state performed in the battle at Kruty essentially the same task as now the military at Marinka. Although conditions are not the same - we are now really stronger. Our dreams are already a little different, because we have much of what the previous generations did not dare to think about in 1918, "

So, Zelensky urged today, during political confrontations, not to forget about the honor and sincerity with which the Ukrainians defended and defend their state - whether it be near Kruty or in the Donbass.

Zelensky also installed an icon lamp at the grave of the hero of Ukraine Alexander Klitinsky, who died in the House of Trade Unions during the Revolution of Dignity and who died in the battles for Ilovaisk, Knight of the Order of Daniel of Galician Markian Paslavsky.

The ceremony was also joined by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmitry Razumkov, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak.
