In 2020, 168 107 road accidents happened in Ukraine. Of these, 26 140 accidents - with injured, in which 3541 people died and 31 974 people were injured.

This was reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The main causes of road traffic accidents with fatalities and / or injuries that occurred during 2020 are:.

exceeding the safe and set speed;

violation of the rules of maneuvering;

intersection violation;

violation of the rules of passage of pedestrian crossings non-observance of the distance.

Accidents with pedestrians There were 7641 accidents with dead and / or injured pedestrians, in which 1198 people died and 6959 were injured.

Traffic accidents with children There were 4432 accidents involving children, in which 168 children died and 3957 were injured.

Accidents with cyclists There were 1768 accidents with dead and / or injured cyclists, in which 235 people died and 1610 were injured.
