Wanderlei Lushemburgo headed Vasca da Gama for the second time in his coaching career - the club's official website reported.

Initial contract signed before the end of the current Brazilian Championship, which ends in February. The further fate of the 68-year-old specialist will depend on whether the team retains its registration in Serie A. After 27 rounds, Vascu takes a place in the relegation zone, but played less for the match than Bragantino, Fortaleza, Sport Recife and Baia staying in the safe zone, behind which they are 3, 3, 1 and 0 points behind, respectively.

Together with Lushemburgo, his assistants Mauricio Copertino, Antonio Melo and Daniel Felish will join the team.

During his first visit to Vascu, Lushemburgo had 37 matches: 15 wins, 12 draws and 10 losses.

During his 37-year coaching career, Lushemburgo has led a wide variety of Brazilian teams, the Brazilian national team, Real Madrid and Tianjin Tianhan.

At the head of his teams, he repeatedly won the championships of various Brazilian states, 5 championships and 1 Brazilian Cup, as well as the Copa America in 1999.
