Investigators of the Novokakhovsky police department will petition in court for the detention of those suspected of causing fatal injuries to a military intelligence officer.

This is stated in the message of the police of the Kherson region.

We will remind, on December 25 at about 2:55 am to the duty station of the Novokakhovsky police department from the paramedic of the " At the scene of the incident, the investigative and operational group established that the dead was a contract soldier of the military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stationed in the city. The police identified witnesses who reported that the deceased had a conflict situation with two men. Verbal skirmish turned into a fight. As a result, the soldier received bodily injuries that led to his death.

As the deputy chief of the regional police chief Nikolai Verbitsky said, the police officers carried out a set of investigative and search measures and identified the citizens involved in the crime. They turned out to be local residents aged 35 and 41. The men were informed of a suspicion of a criminal offense under Part. 2 st. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, intentional grievous bodily injury committed by a group of persons, resulting in the death of the victim. Now investigators of the Novokakhovsky police department have sent a petition to the court to keep the attackers in custody during the pre-trial investigation. For the committed crime of which they are suspected, punishment is provided in the form of imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
