Traditionally, every year two cities bear the title of the European Capital of Culture, Europulse specifies. The title of European Capital of Culture has been awarded to European cities since 1985. An independent jury selects the winners among the cities that have presented a cultural program for the whole year. Cultural capitals receive EU support, new tourists and the opportunity to attract new investors.
