Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta was an assistant to Josep Guardiola in Manchester City who wanted to sign Jorginho back in 2018 from Napoli. Mikel remains a fan of the Italian talent and is now eager to get him to Arsenal, Sky Sports claims.

Arsenal will try to sign Jorginho back during this transfer window, which is open until October 5 (23:00 local time). Arteta did not rule out incoming and outgoing transfers during this period.

Signing Jorginho will not be easy, as he is the main player of Chelsea, sometimes even replacing Cesar Azpilicueta in the status of captain.

The Gunners wanted to bolster midfield this summer with Hussem Auar from Lyon or Thomas Partey from Atletico, however, it seems that in both cases, they failed, not converging with clubs in price.

Perhaps Lucas Torreira will leave the club - the Uruguayan is expected to move to Atletico Madrid for 20 million pounds.
