The low position of Ukraine in the rating means that the country is included in the category of economically unfree countries. The neighbors in the rating of Ukraine are: Pakistan, Tunisia (both 129th place) and Tajikistan (132nd) and Bangladesh (133rd).
In last year's ranking, Ukraine took 135th place.
The country's position in the rating is determined by 44 indicators that assess five areas of economic freedom: the size of government (Ukraine's indicator is 6.72 points, where 10 points is the best result), legal system and property rights (4.57), monetary policy (5.65.

The top five freest economies, according to the Fraser Institute, include Hong Kong (8.94), Singapore (8.65), New Zealand (8.53), Switzerland (8.43) and Australia (8.23).
Lithuania in the ranking took 11th place, Slovakia 38th, Hungary 53rd, Kazakhstan 73rd, Poland 77th, Russia 89th.
