On August 19, 2020, after the transfer of the second part of the unlawful benefit in the amount of UAH 598,000, investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation detained two intermediaries, one of whom is an employee of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision of Ukraine, as well as the head of one of the departments of the Medical Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and an officer of the medical service of one. The previously mentioned persons have already received funds in the amount of UAH 400,000. These events were preceded by thorough operational and investigative work together with the Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General. During the covert (search) actions, a conversation was recorded between the accomplices: a conversation between an employee of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision of Ukraine with the director of the company was recorded when the first part of the illegal benefit was transferred in the amount of 400,000 hryvnia; recorded a conversation between the head of one of the directorates of the Medical Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with an entrepreneur of the society for promoting relations with the Ministry of Defense; the agreement of the employee of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision of Ukraine with the director of the company was recorded about the possibility of kickbacks on other purchases. On August 23, 2020, the Pechersk District Court of the city of Kiev chose the members of the criminal group as a preventive measure within the framework of criminal proceedings on the fact of extortion and receiving almost 1 million hryvnias of unlawful benefits for facilitating the supply of medical masks for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (part. 4 st. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine): to the head of the Directorate of the Medical Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - detention or bail of 13,000,000 hryvnia; to the company commander of the medical service of one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - detention or bail 3,177,000 hryvnia; to the representative of the State Inspectorate of Energy Supervision of Ukraine - detention or bail 230,000 hryvnia.
