By the verdict of the Novomoskovsk city district court of the Dnipropetrovsk region, a serviceman called up to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for mobilization was found guilty of committing a criminal offense under Part. 4 st. 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of service), and using Art. 69 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he was sentenced to arrest for a period of 6 months, with serving a sentence in a guardhouse.

The court proved that at the end of March 2016, a serviceman of one of the military units of the Dnipropetrovsk region, in order to temporarily evade military service, unauthorized, without good reason, left the military unit and was absent until August 2017.

The junior sergeant spent his free time at his own discretion, did not declare his whereabouts to the military or civilian authorities.

When sentencing, the court took into account the sincere repentance of the accused, active contribution to solving the crime, positive service profile, participation in the JFO, the intention to continue serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the maintenance of two minor children.

The public prosecution in court was supported by the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Dnipropetrovsk garrison of the southern region of Ukraine.
