In New Kakhovka, Kherson region, police detained a man who may be involved in a fire in a five-story building.

As noted, the police found that on the 5th floor of the house there is a person who is abusing alcohol. Today, the neighbors heard the smell of smoke from his apartment and started knocking on the door.. When within ten minutes no one opened the door for them, the neighbors knocked out the doors and saw a man in a state of intoxication and an apartment in fire. The fire spread to the roof of the five-story building, so residents called the firefighters and the police.

The man told the police that he used to drink alcohol at home, after which he decided to smoke on the couch and fell asleep. His neighbors woke him when the apartment was already burning.

A resident of the house is detained, the issue of notifying him of suspicion is being decided.
