Between the Kharkov National University of Internal Affairs and the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland) a Declaration on cooperation in the fields of educational and scientific activity was signed. According to the press service of the KNUVD, the signing took place remotely.
Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (founded in 1957) - one of the largest state universities in the Republic of Poland. The Academy offers higher education in the field of the humanities, exact sciences, natural sciences, as well as the sciences of health, management and security.
Related educational areas for Kharkov National University of Internal Affairs are cybersecurity, governance, national security and sociology.
During the online communication, the rector of KNUVS, Doctor of Law, Police Colonel Dmitry Shvets noted: “For us, the European and, in particular, Polish experience in training cybersecurity specialists, as well as scientific developments in this field are important. The modern world is full of challenges and threats to which we must respond quickly. Joining forces with Polish scientists in the exchange of experience and best practices is relevant and important for us. Polish colleagues devote much attention to cybersecurity issues with elements of cryptography and cryptology, cyberspace protection, cyberthreats, state protection, security and public order, which are also priority areas for Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. We actively use the latest technology in the fight against crime. A vivid example is the development of chatbot by specialists and cadets of the University Telegram University, which helps citizens complain to the messenger administration about the email addresses that criminals use to sell drugs illegally ”.
Vice-rector of the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk Andrzej Urbanek emphasized the importance of cooperation with the university, which will allow students of both universities to get education simultaneously in Slupsk and Kharkov and receive two diplomas upon completion of training. Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk has a well-developed infrastructure and a strong training base, which contributes to the quality mastery of knowledge. The Academy has long been working on the international program “Erasmus +”, thanks to which the exchange of students, teachers and scientists.
The head of the Center for Ukrainian-Polish Development at KNUVD (volunteer), associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology Mykola Pakhnin emphasized that for the university, signing the Declaration of Cooperation is a landmark event in the integration of the university into a single European educational space. Although the signing of the document took place remotely, this did not prevent the universities from discussing the prospects for further cooperation and defining plans for joint activities..
