On social networks, Ukrainian stars and opinion leaders publish videos on which they read excerpts from the book “Not at all a scary book about life, death and everything in between” - this is the first book in Ukraine for families of seriously ill people, which immediately contains life stories.
The initiative was launched by the author and founder of the GO " Excerpts from stories were joined by actress Irma Vitovskaya, 1 + 1 TV presenters Solomiya Vitvitskaya and Lidia Taran, public activist and world champion in karate Ulyana Pchelkina, singer Yarina Kvitka, medical expert at the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine Yekaterina Bulavinova.
For many of them, the book has become a response of personal stories.. Solomia Vitvitskaya read the passage the day after the funeral of his uncle.
And the star of the charity performance “Oscar and the Pink Lady” Irma Vitovskaya for many years has supported the development of palliative care for those who can no longer be cured. For readings, Irma chose from the book a story about little Pasha - it was after his death that the activists made sure that resuscitation was officially opened to visitors.
Some of the stories you read are your own.. For example, in the book there are stories of the husband of Ekaterina Bulavinova, who died of cancer. Or the story of Dmitry Sherembey, who 20 years ago, doctors gave two months of life. According to Dmitry, “” Not at all a scary book ”will help to survive the bad news and to cope with the pain of both physical and mental - patients and their families”.
“Often, when they hear bad news about health or death, people don’t know how to behave and just say.”! And you feel distancing and formal politeness in this, because there’s almost nothing to hold onto in such situations, ”says the author Anastasia Leukhina and advises instead to talk about the“ auxiliary ”book.
Thanks to donations from donors, part of the print run was printed specifically for hospitals and hospices..
