The project notes that since 2009 all international competitions in the climbing discipline “speed” have been held on a standard high-speed track with a topographic location of leads. While in Ukraine there is only one such indoor climbing wall in Odessa, but it cannot be used for six months, as the building is not heated. Therefore, it is difficult for athletes to train in the fall and winter, when the basic preparation for the new competitive season takes place.

“If you open such a center in Kharkov, during the year there will be able to train and compete from 500 to 5 thousand. climbers from other regions and countries. Athletes from all over Ukraine and future participants of the Olympic Games in Tokyo and Paris, where rock climbing will be presented for the first time, will prepare for tournaments. The new climbing wall will give young Kharkiv climbers a chance to reach the international level, ”the authors of the project note.

In addition, thanks to the implementation of the project in 2021 in Kharkov, it will be possible to hold national and international competitions and training camps for the national team of Ukraine.
