The authorities of Malta announced on Sunday that they plan to cancel part of the restrictive measures designed to curb the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, since there has not been a single infection in the country per day, reports The Guardian.

This happened for the first time since the first patient with this coronavirus was discovered in Malta on March 7.. A total of 450 cases of infection and four deaths were detected in the country..

The WHO noted that the authorities of Malta have perfectly arranged testing of people for the presence of coronavirus, and also - effectively tracked the contacts of patients.

At the same time, Malta introduced less stringent restrictions in connection with the spread of infection than many other countries: it is forbidden to gather in groups of more than three people. Schools, airports and non-vital stores are closed, but factories, construction sites continue to work. The beaches are open.
