January 6 in Kiev commemorated the legendary coach of Dynamo Valery Lobanovsky. On this day, 81 years ago, Meter was born.
Today, a large number of people gathered near the grave of Lobanovsky on the central avenue of the Baykovsky cemetery to lay flowers at the grave and monument of Meter. His relatives and friends came, friends, Dynamo from different generations, coaches and football players, club employees, fans and journalists.
Among them: Vladimir Muntyan, Andrey Biba, Alexey Mikhailichenko, Vadim Yevtushenko, Mikhail Mikhailov, Pavel Yakovenko, Yuri Dmitrulin, Sergey Kovalets and many others.
A rally in memory continued at the monument to the mentor, located in the heart of Kiev, near the entrance to the Dynamo stadium, which bears the name of Lobanovsky.
Those present, together with the pupils of the Dynamo Academy, paid tribute to the legend of football, laid flowers at his memorial, remembered the warm moments associated with Lobanovsky, and thanked for their invaluable contribution to the history of Dynamo.
Under the leadership of Lobanovsky, Dynamo achieved the greatest success: in 1975, the club won the Cup Winners' Cup and defeated Bayern Munich in the European Super Cup. And in 1986, the people of Kiev took the Cup for the second time..
In the domestic arena, Lobanovsky at the helm of Dynamo won 8 USSR championships, 6 USSR Cups, 3 USSR Super Cup, and also became the champion of independent Ukraine 5 times and won the Ukraine Cup three times. In addition, the legendary coach brought up three Golden Ball owners - Oleg Blokhin (1975), Igor Belanov (1986) and Andrey Shevchenko (2004).
