The head of the National Register of Ukraine Records Lana Vetrova today, December 22, recorded another record - the largest mural-triptych in terms of area.
Kharkov artists painted on the three walls of a 16-storey building at pr. Ludwig Liberty, 58, panel, which depicts five small whales and one large (killer whale).
Record fixing was done by professional surveyors. The total area of \u200b\u200bstreet art, according to their calculations, amounted to 1375.74 square meters.
“As soon as a large-scale mural appears somewhere, the Kharkovites will definitely draw a larger. Earlier, we recorded the largest mural in Kiev, but this triptych, of course, broke the previous record. The history of Kharkov murals deserves a separate page in the Book of Records, ”said Lana Vetrova.
According to one of the authors of the triptych, Kharkov artist Anastasia Khudyakova, street art was painted for three weeks, and the idea itself arose a year ago. Painters performed at a height of 48 m.
“A whale is a symbol of natural strength. We can draw an analogy with the fact that our city is also large and powerful, a millionaire city, so I wanted to create a large-scale and vibrant work that will cheer up and be interesting to residents and visitors of the city, ”said Anastasia Khudyakova.
According to her, Alekseyevka was not chosen by chance to create an art object: similar projects have not yet been implemented in this area, and there is the necessary space for this.. She also said that the mural was created in the framework of the program “Public budget (participation budget) of the city of Kharkov” for 2019.
