The first deputy mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, today, November 24, held a meeting on the work of city services in conditions of snowfall, the city council press service reports.
In connection with the unfavorable weather forecast for the coming days, he instructed the directors of departments and utilities to prepare all available resources to combat snow.
“Accents should be made on cleaning central highways and approaches to schools, kindergartens and hospitals, on cleaning near the bus shelters of city electric transport. Wipers will work on the local territory, they have the necessary equipment, equipment, sand and salt mixture for strewing pavements, ”said Igor Terekhov.
According to the director of the Department of Construction and Road Management, Vladimir Chumakov, the road workers are fully prepared for winter, all snow removal vehicles have been transferred to the winter mode of operation, duty teams have been created, which, if necessary, will work on the roads around the clock.
In order to avoid icing of the contact network and the rails of the urban passenger electric transport, night trams and trolley buses will run on the routes.
“We have to calmly prepare for the first snowfall so that the city could survive it without problems. We have all the possibilities for this.. Clearing the roads, stable work of transport and the social sphere - everything should function in a normal way, ”said Igor Terekhov.
