Cyber ??police detained a group of six criminals who were engaged in frauds with self-service banking terminals. About 400 illegal transactions in 11 regions of Ukraine are on the conscience of swindlers, the total amount of damage from which exceeded 5 million hryvnias.

Scammers abducted money from state and private Ukrainian banks, deceiving terminal validators.

Under the scheme, the terminal received banknotes specially prepared by attackers, recording credits to the client’s accounts. Thus, malefactors from one ATM could transfer from 5 up to 170 thousand hryvnias to controlled accounts. At the same time, using the means of conspiracy, the attackers constantly changed the place of the crime, moving for 24 hours to the regional centers of the whole country, "the police said.

Suspected citizens of Ukraine aged 23 to 33 years old were detained in Krivoy Rog, Dnipropetrovsk region, during another attempt to transfer funds to controlled accounts. Militiamen seized material evidence, among which a specially modified bill that deceived the terminal.

"In addition, the police found that the organizer of the criminal group created an office for the manufacture of counterfeit money.
