The General Electric locomotive will be on its way to Ukrzaliznytsia on Thursday, November 8.
This was stated by the head of "UZ" Evgeny Kravtsov.
"The first diesel locomotive GE will be on the way tomorrow. It will be running tests in real conditions on the Ukrainian railway. "Trident" will travel a distance of 150 km as part of a freight train on the Kremenchug-Romodan section. The locomotive crew from the Melitopol depot will manage the new diesel locomotive, the guys studied the specifics of operating the TE33AS in Kazakhstan, "he said.
Kravtsov said that the contract with the United States is implemented on schedule. Already 15 General Electric locomotives have been delivered to Ukraine, another 15 units are planned to be received in the first quarter of 2019. The resulting locomotives are on retrofitting.
