Archpriest Andrei Novikov, a member of the Synodal Biblical-Theological Commission of the ROC, in connection with the decisions of Constantinople in Ukraine, proposed a series of retaliatory measures, which, according to the priest, naturally flow from the situation.
"In view of the falling away of the former Patriarchate of Constantinople from the Church, to create dioceses and parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in Turkey, including Istanbul," Father Andrey writes on his Facebook.
The priest also proposes to break the Eucharistic communion with the Patriarchate of Constantinople, “to anathematize the heresy of Eastern papism, including false teaching about the right of the Istanbul bishop to abolish and revise anathemas and interdictions of local Churches”.
According to the priest, one should also declare that the Patriarchate of Constantinople "caused a split, entered into communion with anathema and fell under it".
