Brugge, Anderlecht, Standard and Genk are suspected of fraud with transfers

Belgian law enforcement agencies took up an investigation into the transfer activities of clubs acting in the national championship - reports Deutsche Welle with reference to the VRT and RTBF.

Police searched offices in Bruges, Anderlecht, Standard, Genk and six more clubs. According to the Belgian prosecutor's office, coach Brugge Ivan Leko was questioned, and the former manager of Charleroi Mogi Bayat was detained at home and taken into custody.

Also, law enforcement officers intend to interrogate two football referees and several influential football agents.
