Students of the Amur Medical Academy embarked on an unusual experiment - research on a new drug, which included components that improve blood supply around the hair follicles.

“The modern pace of life, stress, poor environment have a negative impact on the entire human body, including the condition of the hair on the head in both men and women,” explains the essence of the scientific work Sergey Barannikov, the head of the experimental student group. - The problem of alopecia (alopecia) increases every year, and this is connected not only with age, but also with changes in hormonal levels, heredity, and so on. Today, many cosmetics have been created to improve the structure and growth of hair.. We want to test the effectiveness of the drug in the development of a network of capillaries of hair follicles and in stimulating hair growth.. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Studies are conducted on the basis of the youth innovation center of the Medical Academy. And the idea itself was proposed to future medical scientists by Ametis JSC, which produces dihydroquercetin from Dahurian larch - a powerful natural antioxidant. The company also provided for research a drug, which included components that improve blood supply around the hair follicles, as well as dihydroquercetin.

Under the patronage of the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovative Development of the Amur State Medical Academy, Professor Sergey Tseluiko, a group of students developed a plan for conducting the experiment and began its implementation. Studies are conducted on laboratory animals (white rats). Pre-preparation for the experiment is in full swing..

Under the scrutiny of researchers while there is one rat. She is rubbed on a shaved and painted skin surface with a new drug and then the hair growth dynamics is observed..

Further, during the main experiment, more than ten rats will be used.. The substance that will be applied to the skin of rats is strictly metered, as well as its volume..

"The use of different dosages of the drug and in different parts of the skin will help to identify the optimal volume for improving hair growth, - specifies the head of the research group. - It is important that it does not have side effects and does not harm the body ".

At this stage of the experiment, medical students consider it their main task to prove the effectiveness of the drug so that it can be promoted to the cosmetic market.. “The better and more convincing the results of our research will be, the faster people with alopecia will be able to take advantage of it and, in general, everyone who wants to have beautiful and healthy hair,” said Sergey Barannikov..
