Some substances can be dangerous, says the doctor..

Doctor Alexei Rzheshevsky called on Ukrainians to pay attention to the presence of a substance called titanium dioxide in the composition of hygiene products. As a food additive (food coloring) under the name E171 (Titanium dioxide) it is added to many foods, chewing gums, toothpaste, soap, cosmetics. This doctor wrote in a blog on the official website of Dr. Komarovsky.

"It is thanks to titanium dioxide that products, gum and toothpastes become dazzling white. It is also added to dry dairy mixes, breakfast cereals, dairy products (ice cream, yogurt, etc.. ), marshmallows, marsh-mellow, crab sticks, etc. That is, almost everything that needs to be given a perfectly white color so loved by the consumer, "writes the doctor.

According to the expert, until recently it was believed that titanium dioxide is a completely safe additive.. And in those microconcentrations in which it is contained in products and hygiene products, E171 does not pose a threat to human health.. Recently, however, new research scientists.

In June, a discovery was made that showed the relationship between titanium dioxide consumption and the development of diabetes.. Previously it was believed that titanium dioxide is the most accumulated in the body in the tissues of the liver and spleen.. Scientists investigated 11 fragments of pancreatic tissue, eight of which were taken from patients with type 2 diabetes and three samples from healthy people.

The analysis showed that in the pancreatic cells of diabetics there are clearly visible crystals of titanium dioxide. Their number was simply enormous: scientists estimated that in a diabetic pancreas the number of crystals reached 108 –109 per gram of gland. In healthy people, nothing of the kind was found in the pancreatic tissues..
