In Kharkiv, border guards detained a US citizen who tried to illegally get to Russia by bicycle to see his beloved.

According to the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, last night Border Service Cossack Lopan of the Kharkov detachment detained a US citizen who tried to get from Ukraine to Russia by bicycle, trying to cross the state border outside.

Having received operative information from the district inspector, the border patrol moved to the place of probable violation, and 10 meters from the state border line detained the mountain-traveler.

"During the interview, the man explained that he was trying to get to Russia to see his beloved. Because of the inability to obtain a Russian visa, he legally got into Ukraine, bought a bicycle and went to Russia with it, "the department said.
