Scientists: dancing is more useful than doing in the gym

Sports dancing is much more effective than even the most intensive training in the hall, scientists from the University of Brighton. At least, dances help to cope faster with superfluous kgs. Scientists talk about the benefits of dancing for a person's mental state, this sport teaches interaction with other people, liberates and gives confidence, writes The Daily Mail.

As part of the experiment, Dr. Nick Smeaton assembled a group of 15 dancers and held several sessions with them. During the dances, the heart rate of volunteers was measured, their energy expenditure, happiness level and some other indicators. The subjects were engaged in ballroom dancing, swing, street dance, salsa or kontemporari. At the end of the course volunteers shared their impressions with scientists.

It turned out that a campaign to dance allows you to burn more energy than intense running, cycling or swimming. Just think, for one lesson on street dance people danced more than 3.5 kilometers, which is equivalent to a long run of average intensity.
