At night on Saturday, September 15, on the street. General Karpenko in Nikolaev, an unknown person attacked a 45-year-old woman and tried to rape her.

A source in the military prosecutor's office told Novosti-N.

The police turned to the victim. She said that around 1am in the courtyard of the house on the street. General Karpenko approached her unknown, armed with a gun. Threatening the weapon, he put the woman on his knees and demanded to make love to him. The woman began begging to release her, at that time voices were heard, the unknown was frightened and ran away.

Arriving at the scene of the incident, the police began combing the surrounding territory and after a while they found a person who was similar to the one described by the victim. The woman confidently identified in the detainee a man who attacked her.

The detainee introduced himself as a serviceman of one of the units stationed in Nikolayev.

When inspecting the territory in the bushes was found a rifle in the caliber of 5.6 mm with an optical sight. It was her unhappy woman who took for an automaton.

On the scene came the investigative-operational group of the Zavodsky District Police Department. The attacker was detained in the manner of Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
