Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained participants of the organized group in Kharkiv region, which terrorized local entrepreneurs, hiding behind the Kharkov city association of veterans of the antiterrorist operation.

Operatives of the special services established that a group of intruders committed attacks on construction sites where commercial real estate objects were being built. They used physical violence, destroyed and damaged property, blocked the assembly work of entrepreneurs. For the termination of pressure on business, they on behalf of public veteran organization demanded money, ostensibly on charity.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine have documented that from one of the developers the attackers demanded thirty thousand US dollars.

Law enforcers detained two leaders of the group in Kharkov for transferring an illegal profit of twenty thousand dollars. During the detention, one of the attackers tried to provide armed resistance, threatening to use a war grenade against them. Against the attacker was used firearms. From the received gunshot wound he died in the hospital. Unfortunately, he turned out to be a former participant in the antiterrorist operation.

Criminal proceedings started under Art.. 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The question of informing the participants of the group about suspicion of committing a crime and choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being decided, the press center of the Security Service.
