This conclusion was reached by experts from Spain and Greece, having analyzed data on more than one million healthy adult patients.

It is proved that 6-8 hour sleep a day reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and prolongs life. At the same time, if a person sleeps 1-2 hours more or less than this time, he increases the risk of developing coronary heart disease, obesity, sexual dysfunction / decreased libido, weakening the immune system, reducing the intellectual capacity. And recently, scientists have established that if a person sleeps less than the prescribed or often wakes up at night, then it increases the likelihood of asymptomatic atherosclerosis. This is reported by eurolab. ua.

Experts from Greece and Spain analyzed data from 11 surveys, in which, in total, more than one million healthy adult patients were examined. Volunteers were divided into three conditional groups, one of which people slept less than 6 hours a day, the second - more than 8 hours, and the third was a control with the observance of the recommended rate of sleep.

The observation lasted for 9.3 years. Conclusion: compared with the control group in the remaining patients, the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke increased - in undersleeping by 11% and in peripating by 33%. That is, lovers sleep longer, get sick and go out of life before the "victims" lack of sleep.

Previously, Yellmed told that because of violations of sleep patterns, the heart grows old. To this conclusion came the researchers from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In their opinion, adults who sleep too much or too little may be more prone to heart attacks and strokes.

According to researchers from the Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology of Kiel University, an overabundance of sleep is harmful to health: a night sleep lasting more than seven to eight hours in an adult may be associated with an increased risk of premature death.
