A new experimental compound of chemicals, AT-121, which anesthetizes more effectively than morphine and is not addictive, was invented by American scientists. This is reported by The Guardian.

The drug acts on a group of receptors that are involved in instinctive and emotional behavior to relieve pain. Until today, all painkillers have acted on the basis of opioids, which eliminate pain and simultaneously give a sense of pleasure, because of which there is dependence on them.

AT-121 is able to calm pain, and at the same time it does not cause pleasure, and accordingly, addiction.

Scientists have already conducted drug studies in mice and monkeys, in the queue - tests in humans.
