State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin recalled the package of changes introduced by President Vladimir Putin, aimed at improving the pension system. The Russian leader voiced his decision last week. "This is a whole block of legislative initiatives aimed at protecting the interests of citizens in the conditions of changing the pension system of the country, the need for which he stated in his televised address to citizens on August 29," - said the Duma speaker. He added that it is a matter of amendments not only to the document adopted on July 19 in the first reading, but also to the Tax Code, as well as the Criminal Code.

The draft laws, which were introduced presidential amendments, Volodin sent to the profile committees of the lower house. "Already next week, September 12, will be a meeting of the State Duma working group on improving the pension system. By this time, the chairmen of the committees will have to submit a timetable for considering the amendments, "warned the chairman of the State Duma.
