At 2:59 on September 1, an airplane Boeing 737-800 of the Utair airline rolled out at the Sochi international airport during landing in difficult weather conditions from the runway, making the Moscow-Sochi flight.

The airport of the resort city is sandwiched between the sea and the mountains. Rain, a thunderstorm, a night, a half-lane strip and a side wind of up to 20 m / s, did their part. The pilot landed the plane on the second attempt. The plane could not resist on the lane, hit the fence and slipped into the river bed of the Mzymta. At the same time, his landing gear collapsed, both wings, the left engine caught fire. On board there were 164 passengers and 6 crew members. At the airport they managed to prepare. As a result, the fire was extinguished very quickly, all the people who were in the plane were rescued. Evacuation of all passengers and crew took only a few minutes. They were quickly taken to a safe distance and then to one of the airport sectors. Suffered 18 people, including 3 children. The victims are mainly poisoned by shock gas and chest injuries. Hospitalized six people, two of them - children. The rest will be treated out-patiently. Psychologists work with passengers and their relatives. According to the order of the Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova in the federal institutions are reserved beds in case you have to provide specialized medical care.

It was not possible to save only one person - the head of the complex change of the airport of Vladimir Begiyan. This he led the salvation of people. Himself Begiyan died on the way to the hospital from a heart attack.

By 4:30 the fire was completely eradicated. At the airport of Sochi, after the emergency, 10 flights for departure and 10 for arrivals. The crashed plane was supposed to leave for Moscow at 6 am. Instead, the airline Utair at 10:11 provided passengers with a backup board.

Now the investigation of the circumstances of the incident is handled by the employees of the Investigative Committee. A criminal case was initiated under the article "Provision of services that do not meet the requirements of consumer safety".
