Former UEFA president Michel Platini criticized the introduction of a system of video replay in football (VAR).

"VAR did not bring football more justice. FIFA finds statistics that justify it. At best, the video can help determine whether the ball crossed the goal line or not or determine the offside position, because these decisions are based on specific facts.

There is no interpretation of the episode, but even in this case it is dangerous. The VAR system was used in the World Cup finals. But the judge did not look at the episode with the first goal of the French, when the Croatian player did not break the rules. Whereas in the case of a penalty shootout the referee turned to the video - was the game handy or not. The whole of Croatia believes that it was unintentional, while France wanted to get a penalty.

Who knows, maybe tomorrow captains and goalkeepers will play with headphones, and coaches will be able to manage them during the match.

But in this way we will certainly kill football, as it happened in cycling and Formula 1. We have already killed the judges, "- said Platini, whose words lead football Italia.

Video replay was introduced at the World Cup-2018.

Earlier it was reported that the VAR will work with the quarter finals of the Champions League, but the UEFA boss Alexander Cheferin denied this information.

Recall, in 2015, a corruption scandal erupted between then-FIFA president Joseph Blatter and Platini.

Blatter was accused of illegally transferring 2 million Swiss francs to Platini's account. Both were suspended from football activities for 8 years, later term reduced to 6 years.
